Royal Palace, Milan
From 22 April to 4 October 2023 Palazzo Reale Milano welcomes for the first time in Europe a large monograph of one of the major figures of the international art scene: Leandro Erlich.
An Argentine artist, born in Buenos Aires in 1973, Erlich created large installations with which the public interacted and interacted, becoming itself a work of art.
Erlich’s works have already won millions of visitors around the world: 600,000 in Tokyo and 300,000 in Buenos Aires, everywhere the public has flocked to his exhibitions, characterized by very complex and therefore very rare site-specific installations.
The exhibition, promoted by the City of Milan-Culture, is produced and organized by Palazzo Reale and Arthemisia, in collaboration with Studio Erlich, curated by Francesco Stocchi.
His works are unique and represent an absolute novelty in the art world and combine creativity, vision, emotion and fun.
Buildings where you climb virtually, houses uprooted and suspended in the air, elevators that lead nowhere, escalators tangled as if they were threads of a ball, sculptures and surreal bewildering, videos that subvert normality. They are all elements that tell us something ordinary in an extraordinary context, where everything is different from what it seems, where you lose the sense of reality and the perception of space.
