Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Via Palestro, 16, Milan
From February 27 to June 28 2026
The exhibition on the artist Paul Troubetzkoy is organized by CMS.Cultura, the Galleria d’Arte Moderna Milano, and the Musée d’Orsay. In Milan, the exhibition will take place at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna from February 27 to June 28, 2026, while in Paris, at the Musée d’Orsay, the dates will be from September 30, 2025, to January 11, 2026. This exhibition will aim to reconstruct the unusual career path of this artist. He was a Russian prince by birth, an Italian, and a Parisian by adoption who, simultaneously, began a brilliant career in the United States. Thanks to his great talent as a portraitist, he was sought after by a cosmopolitan elite, by celebrities, by all of Paris, and even by the first stars of American cinema. The exhibition aims to delineate the artistic trajectory of Troubetzkoy, an artist who was able to move with ease through the main cultural and social centers of the era. Particular attention will be paid to his notable ability to capture the psychological essence of his subjects, a quality that made him one of the most requested and celebrated portraitists of his time, both in Europe and on the American continent.
