Palazzo Reale celebrates the centenary of the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris, the event that led to the rise of the “Style 1925” or Art Déco, a refined and elegant style.
The exhibition shows the evolution of this style through paintings, sculptures, furniture, jewelry, clothing, and posters.
It explores the role of Art Déco in shaping the taste of the time, with influences from Cubism, exotic inspirations, and a constant search for formal elegance. Notable figures such as Gio Ponti, Tamara de Lempicka, René Lalique, and Erté helped define this sophisticated and cutting-edge aesthetic.
