At the Palazzo Reale, from June 15 to September 1, 2024, the exhibition “Philippe Halsman. A Stroke of Genius” will explore the exceptional career of the Lithuanian-American photographer Philippe Halsman. Halsman is renowned for his celebrity portraits and his “jumping photos,” where he convinced subjects to jump to capture spontaneous and authentic images. The exhibition includes his famous portraits of figures such as Salvador Dalí, Marilyn Monroe, and Albert Einstein, along with a series of lesser-known works that showcase his creativity and technical skill. Halsman collaborated with many prestigious magazines and left an indelible mark on portrait photography, characterized by a mix of technical precision and playful spirit.
